Update On The Man Whose Hand Was Cut Off By Brother On Christmas

A man simply identified as Diworio was said to have cut off his brother’s hand when the two of them engaged in a fight on Christmas Day.

The man was said to have rushed to his house, picked up a machete with which he tried to cut his brother on the head, but the victim was said to have defended himself with his hand.

It was gathered that the victim, Adolphus Savior was the first to attempt to stab his brother with a knife, but failed. It was learnt that the incident occurred at Otatubu, Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

The siblings were said to have had a misunderstanding over sale of condemned materials, which resulted in the fight, and were said to have turned down all entreaties by elders in the community to settle their differences.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Asinim Butswat, confirmed the incident, adding that the suspect had been arrested and was in police custody. He said the Commissioner of Police, Aminu Saleh, had directed that the case be transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department for thorough investigation.
