Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has blasted Paul Pogba after bumping into his post-match interview in the Red Devils 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup quarterfinal clash on Saturday, March 17, according to Express.
Two first half goals from England international, Marcus Rashford ensured the Europa League defending champions defeat their arch rivals, Liverpool 2-1 earlier this month.
Meanwhile, having missed the game owing to a thigh muscle strain he suffered in their last training session before the game, the 25-year-old interrupted Mourinho’s interview to congratulating him for claiming maximum points over the Anfield side.
However, the former Chelsea and Real Madrid handler has expressed his displeasure over the unruly behaviour of the club’s most expensive player according to the Sun.
The French midfielder was benched in United’s 2-1 defeat to Spanish side, Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League in the knockout stage, after which he maintained his bench warming role in their 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion few days after.
Pogba joined United in the summer of 2016 in an £89 million move from Italian Serie A outfit, but he has struggled for form in his second season in his career.
Though, Mourinho laughed at the time the midfielder came to congratulate him, the former Porto manager, it has now been revealed he was furious behind closed doors. The 54-year-old made it clear that he is the boss and put Pogba in his place.
Pogba was substituted in the 63rdd minute of United 2-0 defeat to Tottenham at the end of January and has since then completed 90 minutes just twice – against Chelsea and Crystal Palace – and his future is being called into question.
Meanwhile, Pogba has hinted that he will love to play alongside Brazil superstar, Neymar.
The Paris Saint Germain forward is currently recovering in his home country after suffering an ankle injury in his side’s 3-0 win over Marseille in February.
“He is truly the definition of joy on the pitch,” Pogba told TyC Sports.
“I know that in Brazil, football is everything. It’s life. Everyone plays football in Brazil.
“When I see him play on the pitch and enjoying himself, with his technique, his agility … I love to watch him play.”
“It’s a different style. He has his own style. When you say Neymar anywhere in the world, everyone knows who he is and what he does.
“For me, it would be a pleasure to play with him one day.”
Both sides are the most expensive players for their clubs, but Neymar is the world’s most expensive player following his staggering £198 million deal last summer.
