A 28-year-old Texan born man went on Twitter earlier this week to reveal an alleged love affair going on between him and his sister.
His Twitter handle is @Gurujeremy2, he wrote on Twitter “Me and my sister have a love that goes beyond the legal system. Some call it incest, we call it fate.” The Texas-born man further revealed that he had gotten his sister three months pregnant and their parents don’t know about the relationship “yet.”
He also appeared gladdened about welcoming the obviously female child, whom he addressed as “child/niece,” underscoring the would-be parents’ unconventional relationship.
In Texas where Guru Jeremy claims to have been born, incest is illegal. If convicted, they both risk maximum 10-year jail and $10,000 fine each.
Varghese Summersett, Criminal defence attorney, says, “The prohibition against incest is laid out in Penal Code Section 25.02. Even among consenting adults, certain $exual conduct is prohibited by law.
“The most serious conduct, $ex with a parent or child (even with an adult child), is a second-degree felony.
“Second-degree felonies are punishable with a minimum of two years in prison. The maximum sentence is 20 years in prison. A fine of up to $10,000 can also be imposed.
“When the $exual conduct is not between a parent and child, but between other covered family members, the offense is a third-degree felony.
“Third-degree felonies are punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Like parent-child incest, third-degree felonies have a two-year minimum sentence. Additionally, third-degree felonies also come with a fine of up to $10,000.
“$ex between siblings, including half-siblings, is also prohibited. In each of these circumstances, whether the person is related by blood, either full or half, or by adoption, the law remains the same.”
The types of $exual conduct covered by the statute include “$exual intercourse,” which the state of Texas defines as penetration of the female $ex organ by the male $ex organ.
The statute also covers “deviate $exual intercourse.” This includes any contact between the genitals of one person with the mouth or anus of another person, provided the intent of the conduct is to arouse or provide $exual gratification.
