A 25 year old Croatian footballer, Bruno Boban, has passed away after collapsing during a league match.
Bruno Boban played for Marsonia in his homeland and was the leading marksman in the third tier. According to reports, 15 minutes during Marsoni’s clash with Slavonija Pozega, Bruno Boban was hit in the chest with the ball from close range.
The match continued and he appeared fine. However, minutes later Bruno dropped to the ground.Thee had appeared to completely lose consciousness before collapsing onto the floor.
Immediately, players from both sides realised the gravity of the situation and called for aid. Medics were quickly on the scene and spent 40 minutes trying to revive him.
The medical perosonnel desperately to resuscitate him, but Bruno Boban was pronounced dead moments later. His team-mates and opponents struggled to fight back the tears, as they watched the events unfold.
As yet, the exact cause of his death has not yet been explained.
